Early Intervention Center

In partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Florida’s Early Steps program, our center provides daily early intervention services to infants and young children with developmental delays or disabilities.  The University of Miami, Linda Ray Intervention Center is funded partly by the Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the Florida Department of Health.

Center Curriculum:  Our early intervention program includes HighScope, Conscious Discipline, and Outcome Curriculums.  Related services available onsite include Speech & Language, Occupational, and Infant Mental Health Therapy.

HighScope Curriculum

Active learning is at the center of the HighScope Curriculum.  It’s the foundation where young children gain knowledge through their natural play and interactions with the environment, events, and other people.

Conscious Discipline

Conscious Discipline is an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach that provides an array of behavior management strategies and classroom structures that teachers can use to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities.

Outcome Curriculum

The Outcome curriculum developed by Dr. Keith G. Scott and Michele Scott is used to work with families on the application and integration of knowledge related to early childhood development.
